In the 1920s, the term “scrambler” was used in England to designate races on dirt tracks, the forerunner of motocross. This term would be taken up in the U.S. in the 1950s and ‘60s to refer to a road motorcycle with off-road ambitions. Today, a Scrambler is a motorcycle (new or vintage) with a stripped-down vintage look that can ride on and off the asphalt. And now, it signifies a glove from our Custom collection devoted to fans of this type of machine, or simply their signature style. It opts for a clearly pared-down, “customizable” look, with its distinctive, interchangeable velcro patches. True comfort is reflected in its stretch, ventilated topside construction in Twill Span and palm in Nash synthetic leather. It offers marvelous grip on the handlebars, and its brown color beautifully contrasts with the rest of the glove. Perforated, supple, durable goat leather adorns the outer fingers and wrist of the glove. Protection is also assured by several foam reinforcements placed around the most exposed zones, which has allowed this glove to obtain a CE level 1 certification. The Scrambler offers vintage charm with a unique, modern touch. It even features the Touch Screen™ system on the index finger for handling device screens… Further proof that you can be inspired by the past but live at today’s pace. The SCRAMBLER, inspired by early motocross races and bikes, is both vintage and modern. Made from stretch Twill Span and Nash synthetic leather, it offers comfort, CE Level 1 protection, and a Touch Screen™. A long-cuffed, directly laminated, and insulated glove with solid protection at the knuckles and a reinforced leather palm, suited for riders in mild/rainy to cold riding conditions. The Zembla is made of abrasion-resistant and durable goat leather and softflex fabric. An extra layer of leather is used at the palm to raise abrasion resistance. It is equipped with a directly laminated Raintex membrane, which prevents the outer layer from absorbing water and getting soggy, cold, and heavy. Directly laminated garments also dry much faster than other waterproofing methods. This glove is lined with comfortable Isofur and Bemberg fabrics, and insulated to retain warmth in cold conditions. A solid RISC™ protector that provides absorption and distribution of impact forces is fitted at the knuckles. At the palm and cuff we’ve opted for soft protection made of EVA, which provides similar benefits. The thumb and index finger are made of one and the same panel of fabric, creating our Ergothumb™ construction that reduces seams and pressure points whilst also providing a wrinkle-free look. At the little finger (i.e. pinkie) you’ll find a similar differentiator called Ergopink™, where the seam on the outside of the little finger is positioned in a way that prevents pressure points. The 30° Buckle™ of the wrist strap is placed under an ergonomic angle of 30 degrees, providing optimal freedom of movement. Heat-conductive fabric is fitted at the tips of the index fingers. Thanks to the Touch Tip, you’ll be able to operate touch screens without taking your gloves off. The index finger is also equipped with a Screen Cleaner™, a flexible extension at the ridge that enables quick and easy removal of water from your visor. Visibility-wise, we’ve opted for reflective Side Eye™ elements that make you better visible where and when it matters without making you look like a road worker the entire time.
